Digital health technologies are increasingly influencing the delivery, management, and accessibility of healthcare services. Tools such as telemedicine, electronic health records, mobile health applications, remote monitoring systems, and clinical decision-support technologies can support communication between patients and healthcare professionals and may improve access to information and services. This conceptual review examines the potential contribution of digital health technologies to healthcare access while considering practical and ethical challenges. The paper discusses potential benefits including reduced geographic barriers, improved continuity of care, patient engagement, health information management, and support for remote consultations. It also considers challenges related to digital literacy, unequal access to devices and connectivity, privacy, cybersecurity, data quality, interoperability, and the need for appropriate clinical oversight. The review argues that digital health should complement rather than automatically replace human-centered healthcare. Successful implementation requires suitable infrastructure, trained healthcare personnel, responsible data governance, accessibility measures, and evaluation of clinical and social outcomes. The paper concludes that digital health technologies can contribute to more accessible healthcare when technological innovation is combined with patient-centered design, ethical safeguards, and equitable implementation strategies.
